Dan Moore A lot of music "sounds like Weezer," but this music actually sounds like Weezer, particularly Coded Lights. Favorite track: Coded Lights.

Dive 03:36
Snails in the city with their sailing committee, glowing at night when they're rolling, rolling home. Carved in the pavement, there's a burrow with railing; crawl in at night when we're rolling, rolling home. We parked our cars down underground, turned off the lights; what we found were centipedes amid the earth, and when they bit, how it hurt! My eyes were burning like candles all week. La la la la la Tales of the city with their nailing committee, put up a fight for rolling, rolling home. Softer, the doctors offered to charm her, but I'm her something-or-other for rolling, rolling home. We parked our cars down underground when it was dark. There were sounds of louder animals unearthed, and when they laughed, how it hurt! My skin was burning like crimson ants all month. La la la la la I went alone to empty buildings with mud on the wall from my feet to the ceiling and moss on the carpet; one day I'll sleep there. We'll park our cars down underground; it'll be nice when we've found a cleaner place to do our work, and when we do, it won't hurt! We'll keep the animals away. La la la la One Saturday, we will dive

Cricket Girl 03:28
I'd let you move in and sleep in the basement, baby. Alright, Cricket-Girl, you know when you wake me, wailing. We'll dance in living rooms, draped by the windows, and I'll hold you with broken fingers tonight. Here we watch the orange sun; we can watch the orange sun, and I can whistle your name to thrill you. How you gnaw on my arms and elbows! How sweetly your eyes glow! Under streetlights you cry at me, waving madly with all six legs. I'll hover right over here. I'll fly you home when you want me to, and I will whistle your name to thrill you. Every night, you lick and chew and cry at me. Every night, you serenade the street. Kiss me right with your insect mouth, get back in the light, and turn to love. Curl up at the foot of the bed. Or you might get around to curling up with me, and I will whistle with you late in the night, and in the morning teach you never to bite, and we will hide here so we'll never die. I'll find a bed for you, and keep you happy.

Daydream 02:57
Lit in the grey sun, tracing your face and dreaming away. Oh, how our brains spun, waiting for no one, a dream in the day. We fled to gardens, tangling our hands, dreaming away. We'll let the rain come soak us in our home, a dream in the day Yeah, we can get away where the trees scrape the sky and lake. The suns roll around in your light hair; if I wake up now, then it's a nightmare Eyes with the lights out, soaked in the night out, dreaming away. Oh, how I'd cradle you in this fabled dream run away Let's go run away to the trees and lakes, where the suns roll around in your light hair. If I wake up now, then it's a nightmare

Runaway 03:05
Ancient fears and "love-me-dears" are jumbled in the air. Don't run away. If vendors sold just what I want, a brilliant girl, a confidante, I wouldn't let them get away. If you returned and came back to me today, I wouldn't make you run away. Are you still downtrodden? Are our feelings long forgotten? I won't make the same mistakes. I would feed your every need, whatever it may be. Just don't run away. Theatres and restaurants, whatever you could ever want. I just want your sweet face to stay.

Coded Lights 03:39
Cold hands, fingers, and toes were wrapped in leaves and sweaters. Late fall smell on your clothes, breathing through your letters. We hide away our weird delight as strangers who adore the lie that I could seem a little alive to you. Warm hands, where do they go? A story you tell better. We'll stay quiet and alone, but in the room together, whispering in coded lights the stories that we know and like, so I could seem a little alive to you, my unfamiliar girl. Oh, I know what I want tonight: a sick, sweet ephemeral lie, so I could seem a little alive to you, my old familiar girl.

about

A collection of non-hits of the aughts; a handful of songs I wrote between 2001 and 2007 that I always felt warranted proper finished recordings. Recorded while procrastinating the recording of actual new material.
